General requirements for storage

The following requirements apply to any way of storing hazardous substances:
- Display the mandatory hazard symbols and safety signs on the entrance doors of areas intended for storage and on the doors of hazardous goods storage cabinets.
- If hazardous substances are freely available, close the generally accessible cabinets and workspaces during employee absences.
- Always store (extremely) toxic substances in a lockable cabinet with the skull icon on it. Place this cabinet in a ventilated area.
- For good handling, preferably use glass bottles with a maximum capacity of 2.5 litres.
- Place glass bottles with hazardous contents as low as possible to minimize breakage if dropped.
- Treat empty packages that have not been cleaned the same as full packages.
