Workload

A work stock is the amount of hazardous substances needed to carry out daily work, is the work stock. This amount may remain at the workplace. Also note the following:

  • Limit the amount of flammable substances in a laboratory area as much as possible.
  • The rule of thumb is 1 litre per square metre of floor space up to a maximum of 25 litres in the workspace.
  • For highly flammable substances, this is a maximum of 1 litre per working space.
  • Keep in mind that waste can also be flammable and therefore counts.
  • A fume hood is not a storage place for hazardous substances. By placing objects in the fume hood, the airflow can change in such a way that the protective effect of a fume hood is nullified. You can see how to work safely with a fume hood in this video
