Safe and healthy working practices
Our umc values working in a safe and healthy environment. Therefore, it aims for the minimal possible exposure to hazardous substances. When working with hazardous substances, products and working methods that are as safe as possible are used.
Your umc follows new developments that focus on further reducing exposure to hazardous substances. If you come into contact with hazardous substances, you will receive information and instruction on how to work safely with hazardous substances.
New employees are informed in the onboarding program. There is an emergency protocol and a work protocol that shows how and under whose responsibility hazardous substances are handled.
All umcs jointly maintain the Health and Safety Catalogue for Hazardous Substances. A national database with information on hazardous substances has also been created and maintained in collaboration. With the help of the database, you can learn about the dangers that a substance entails.
As an employee, you share in the responsibility for a healthy and safe working environment by striving for healthy working behavior. You can give your manager or the occupational health and safety advisor (arboadviseur) tips on how to improve your working environment.
