'I hardly get around to my work.', 'Everyone just walks in here and everything is always important.' Work pressure is different from being busy at work. As long as you can manage it, it doesn't have to lead to problems. Work pressure is not always negative, we also need it to perform well. Too high a workload usually means: too much work in too little time, possibly resulting in work stress. If work stress continues for too long, it can lead to all kinds of complaints. Working under too low a workload or at too low a work pace is also undesirable. There must be a balance betweenwork enjoyment and stress factors. On this website you will find what you can do yourself to maintain or achieve that balance. You can also read how your occupational health and safety advisor (e.g. HR advisor, company social worker, A&O or company doctor), the umcs and the government support you in this.
